Terms of Service

1. Who we are
ZI² Books is operated by Zenith Intelligence Technologies Inc., a United States company, with its postal contact at PO Box 1, Hagerstown, MD 21741, USA, and its email at [email protected]. Zenith Intelligence Technologies Inc. is "the Platform" in these terms. ZI² Books is a marketplace where independent publishers (each an "Imprint") sell their own books directly to readers, on the web at e.zi2.app and in the ZI² Books apps for iPhone, iPad, Android and Mac. By browsing the site, using an app, or buying from either, you accept these terms.
2. What you buy
A purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable license to read and keep the edition you bought. Delivery is immediate: your license page opens when payment clears, holds the download and the reader, and remains your proof of purchase. Keep its address and your license code. Licensed files are for your own use. You may not resell, redistribute, or publicly post them.
3. Your reader account
Your library is tied to the email address you bought with. Signing in uses a one-time link or code sent to that address, so there is no password to keep. You are responsible for the security of that mailbox. You can delete the account at any time, as described on the account deletion page.
4. Payment
Card payments are processed by Stripe on its own pages. The Platform never receives or stores card numbers. Prices are set by each Imprint and shown before you pay, with any tax added at checkout where it applies.
5. Refunds
Refunds follow the refund policy. In short: a defective, unreadable, or misdescribed file is refunded in full when you write within 14 days of purchase.
6. The books belong to their publishers
Each Imprint is solely responsible for the books it sells, for its listings, and for holding the rights it needs. The Platform is the venue, not the author or publisher of Imprint content, and the disclaimers explain what that means for what you read. If you believe a work on this service infringes your rights, send a notice identifying the work, the storefront address, your claimed right, and your contact details to the Platform's designated agent under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), registered with the U.S. Copyright Office as DMCA-1082826: ZI2 Team, Zenith Intelligence Technologies Inc., P.O. Box 1, Hagerstown, MD 21741, USA, telephone +1 240 800 7088, email [email protected]. The Platform reviews such notices promptly, may remove content while it does, and terminates the accounts of repeat infringers.
7. The apps
The ZI² Books apps are licensed to you, not sold, for personal use on devices you own or control. If you got an app from Apple's App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and where it conflicts with these terms about the app, Apple's terms win. Apple, Google, and the other stores are not parties to these terms and have no responsibility for the service, its content, or support. Support comes from the Platform at [email protected].
8. Acceptable use
You may not probe or break the service's security, scrape it at scale, use another person's account, or use the service for anything unlawful. Accounts and licenses obtained through fraud are void.
9. Service and liability
The service is provided as it stands, without warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, the Platform's total liability to a buyer is limited to the amount that buyer paid through the service in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Changes
These terms may change. The current version, with its date, always lives at this address, and material changes are announced on the site. Continued use after a change is acceptance of it.
11. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Maryland, USA, without displacing consumer protections that the law of your home country makes mandatory.
